{Through the Doorway}
Whatever your reasons for opening the door; it's too late to change your mind. One footstep in was all it took and you're arrived elsewhere. Your world shutting behind you in the sound of a click. Turning around reveals that door is gone.
Vanished.
More than that, you're not alone. There are others in the same dank and dingy room as you are. Looking just as confused. Wherever you came from, the place you've ended up in looks to be a disused jail cell. Stone walls. And some kind of mold or moss that has overgrown one of the corners. The bars that separate you from a dim passageway look half rusted and that door might not even be locked.
Maybe it would be better for you if it was though. Because a small scraping sound can be heard for those lucky enough to have keen ears. Whatever is making that sound is coming closer, drawn in by the new arrivals.
Scattered through the underground cells there are skeletons, very old and left in whatever place they fell. Some carried weapons, little good it did them. Finding the exit is not a problem either, but it's locked. A key would need to be found in order for escape to be possible, and hopefully found before you met the same fate as the unfortunate souls before you.

{OOC faq:
How many characters can I play? At this time we're asking for a limit of one per person.
Can I roll more than once for something? Yes! But only once per tag.
Where do I show my rolled result? Optional for wherever you like, but subject line works well.
I don't have any dice, how do I roll for these things? We got you.

"It was when the Lady Morgana and I left it." The potential for gain versus the risk. It was a delicate balance for Rosaline to weigh. However, with someone else equally interested and fairly warned of the dangerous chair. It was possible that the advantage would be in her hands this time.
"I can show you where it was."

Erik quirks his open hand at her, gesturing for her to join him.
"If you'll be my light, I'll be your sword." Is a dungeon the best place to flirt? No, but he needs that light.

"I have an eye for metal, but none of the dead match each other." In this, what she actually means is that none of them are wearing uniforms as if they were a part of an authority. "So I do not believe we shall find the keys among them here."
Further out, perhaps. But that was what partnerships were for. All the better to explore.

"A fair point," He'll agree, after figuring out what she means by matching. "Let's find your Morgana, then, and see what can't be done about that chair."

"She nearly destroyed it before, but the wiser course of action was to retreat at that time." Revenge was a concept almost foreign to Rosaline. Perhaps she would have sought it on Mim once. But whatever Morgana had done to the mad madame was enough to satisfy the girl who'd been her magically compelled servant.
"Down this way."
Further away from the people talking and then a bit more.
The sounds of scraping could be heard again.
Rosaline stopped dead in her tracks. Sensitive ears working hard to distinguish what that was, stone and metal together. It was an unnatural sound.

If that means he has to play nice with a ragtag group from who knows where for a little while, so be it. And if he happens to come across whoever is responsible for putting him here? He can probably spare a small detour.
Rosaline stops and, belatedly, Erik's ears pick up that sound further down the hall too. He moves to slip his hand free of hers, reaching instead toward the darkness before them. If it's a metal that is magnetic, he'll be able to sense the general shape and size of whatever it is.

"There."
The rolling of gears squeaked strangely, as if it was a machine long out of use. Though something abandoned in such a way should naturally fall into disrepair. Should it not?
Like their arrival, there must be something behind the compulsion of this odd item ahead of them. Rosaline took another step forward, in an effort to see the machine better. But the squeaks turned into a higher pitched sounding wail. [rolling defense against sonic shriek= 4]
The magic like wave of sound hits Rosaline's ears and nearly knocks her backward. Her footing is just secure enough to keep her from tumbling over into a heap with her torch.

It's big and it's fast, but it's made of metal he can grasp. An unholy screech washes over them, but it's just as Erik is sending out a repulsive force of his own, so he isn't physically battered like poor Rosaline. All the sonic shrill succeeds in doing is pissing him off which, considering it is the cornerstone of his power, was a bad idea.
He steps forward between Rosaline and the creature. To her, it'll look like he's forcefully yanking air down to his hip with his free hand; to the machine, it will be its 'head' being snatched toward the ground, making its already top-heavy body too much to stand. But even as it slams into the floor, Erik isn't done. With a gesture like shoving someone out of the way, he casts the hulking thing against the bars of a nearby cell hard, possibly smashing it through them.
A quick glance is cast over his shoulder at Rosaline.
"Be my light," He reminds her, only this time it's a command to gather her courage and follow him as he dares to approach the foe. He's not sure if it's down for good, but he's sure it will be soon.

Wiser to do as he bids.
Clutching both hands to her torch this time and quickly falling into place. Rosaline casts a look at Erik.
"You did not tell me you were a sorcerer."
Her attention is captured once again by the mechanical squeaks as the machine attempts to right itself. The light reveals that it is badly damaged, but another strange thing, there is a glowing ruin carved into the metal of it's head.
Down, but not quite out. Yet.
